I was born and raised in Beirut, Lebanon. I enjoy drawing and creating all kinds of art. As a young adult, I always enjoyed helping others. In my opinion, it is very rewarding to be able to assist others in something they might not be able to do otherwise.
I was once an English Language Learner, and I understand how it felt. I moved to the United States with my parents at the age of fifteen. Learning a new language was just as hard as adapting to a new culture. Two of the most important people in my life at that time were my ESL teachers. They went above and beyond to make this experience as pleasant as possible. They took interest in building a relationship with me and took the time to understand where I come from. They engaged me in conversations that were simple enough to understand, yet interesting enough to feel important and valuable in the classroom.
Therefore, I decided to make a difference in young children’s lives in return. I believe that teachers drastically impact a child’s life. My experience during my early years of high school played a big role in triggering my desire to help children and lay a strong foundation for them to become life-long learners.
